Make sure to check back through the month of February to see some of my tips on how to keep
your sick kids entertained when they have the sick day blues!
your sick kids entertained when they have the sick day blues!
Until I was a mom I never gave much thought to winter being cold and flu season.
Now it's all I can think about.
I feel like I'm constantly trying to prevent the nastiness of winter from invading our home.
While it's impossible to completely protect my kids from the bugs
going around it is possible to do my best at preventing!
Here are a few of the ways that I try to keep the germs at bay around our home.
-Vitamin C-
My kids eat oranges and strawberries like they're going out of style.
I try to make sure that my fridge is constantly stocked with both fruits as well as orange juice.
I love knowing that the extra Vitamin C is helping to boost their little immune systems.
-Antibacterial Soap-
I am a real stickler when it comes to washing your hands.
Antibacterial is where it's at over here!
Anytime the kids have been out of the house my first rule
is that you go straight to the bathroom to wash your hands with antibacterial soap.
No exceptions.
-Rest-
I have found that the less sleep my kids get the more likely they are to get sick.
The more sleep the better!
Since all of my kids are still at home with me we ALL lay down to rest every day.
Even if they don't sleep they are expected to lay quietly and read books for a few hours.
Obviously even though I try to stay on top of keeping my kids healthy
they inevitably get sick every now and then.
The last time my oldest daughter came down with a cold I was
desperate to find something that would help with her congestion.
We were both exhausted from her not being able to sleep at night.
I purchased Children's Mucinex to help relieve her stuffy nose and congested head.
It worked wonders and helped to clear up the congestion allowing her to get a good nights rest.
Or should I say gave us BOTH a good nights rest!
It's a relief knowing that while I can't always prevent colds and the flu from coming to our home
I at least have Children's Mucinex on my side to help aid in keeping my kids comfortable.
I look forward to sharing more with you all in the next few weeks in
regard to keeping your sick kids entertained!
