Stove Top Orange Cinnamon Potpourri

posted on: Tuesday, December 4, 2012

I love it when my kitchen smells like something yummy is baking.
Some days baking something isn't in the plans but I still want that cozy smell.
Here's my new go-to solution!

The next time you peel an orange to eat save the peels!

Throw the peels, a good shake of cinnamon and a good amount of water into a saucepan.
Put it on the back of your stove away from little hands on the lowest heat possible.

Your kitchen will soon start to smell like you're baking something fabulous!
Just make sure to replenish the water if need be.

I left my little brew bubbling for a few hours this morning.
It continued to smell well into the afternoon even after I had turned the stove off.

You could definitely throw in some other spices and fruits to mix up the scent.
Have you ever done this before and if so what all was in your mix?
