Salisbury Steak

This recipe was a HIT with the guys in my house!
It's very filling and hearty!
I served our Salisbury Steaks with steamed veggies and the Pioneer Woman's Crash Hot Potatoes.
Travis said he liked this meal more than Thanksgiving dinner.
I then told him the Salisbury Steaks were kind of like Thanksgiving dinner in patty form:)
Ground turkey, stuffing and gravy.
Enjoy!

SALISBURY STEAK

INGREDIENTS
1 lb. ground turkey (you can use ground beef. The recipe called for 2 lbs)
1 egg (the recipe called for 2 eggs)
1 box of Stove Top Stuffing
2 Cans Cream of Mushroom Soup
Fresh mushrooms or 1 can of mushrooms

DIRECTIONS
Mix your meat, eggs and dry stuffing together.
Form into patties; place into a 9x13 pan.
Pour cream of mushroom soup over patties;
pour mushrooms over the soup.
If you use canned mushrooms make sure to drain.
Bake at 350 degrees for 60 minutes.

*I didn't use the full amount of meat the recipe called for.
My 9x13 pan was full of patties.
It was enough for a full meal for our family.
Plus enough leftovers for us to have for another meal.
My mom was the one who gave me this recipe and she said
that the patties freeze well raw.
You could make them ahead of time, freeze them
and then pop them in the oven when you're ready.*

  1. Do you know how many cups there are in a box of Stove Top Stuffing? I just buy big bags of stuffing (dried bread chunks).

This recipe sounds GREAT! Can't wait to try it.

  2. Whoa, that looks amazing. I'm not usually a fan of mushroom anything, but this is something that sounds good. I didn't know cream of mushroom existed. Adding to this to my "whenever I decide to cook" pinboard on Pinterest!
