And it begins..

Our football season began this morning.
We kissed Travis goodbye until November last night.
It's a good routine we have.
Kiss him "goodbye"...take over his part of the chores...
and then when he is home his only job is to relax and let us enjoy the little time we have with him.
When November hits we "welcome" him home...
and I gladly hand his part of the chores back over :)

Two-a-days began this morning.
They were welcomed in with pouring rain and 74 degree weather.
It was so unexpected and a treat for those of us who didn't have to be out in it.
The kids and I drove up to the field hoping to catch a peek of practice in between the showers.
We didn't make it in time and all we saw was a wet field and deserted water coolers.
To make our drive into town worth while and not completely pointless
we took a small detour through the drive through donut shop for sprinkle donuts and a coffee.

We spent the rest of the rainy morning cozied up around the house.
The kids have just reached a new phase where all three of them play together.
There's nothing sweeter than listening to the three of them giggle together...
so thankful for these days.
I'm also thankful that they all are able to entertain themselves now.
I'd be lying if I didn't admit that while they spent the majority of the morning playing
I spent the majority of my morning curled on the couch with my coffee and a quilt.
I'd get up every now and then to switch laundry...then head back to my spot.
I can tell I'm on the very end of my first trimester.
Most days I feel fantastic.
But every now and then the nausia hits me.
A few more days and then I'll be in my second trimester.
I'm amazed how quickly this pregnancy is flying along.
There's not as much time as with baby #1 to sit back and bask in the fact that I'm pregnant;)
I will say however... I've downloaded the What To Expect App for my phone and it has been so fun being able to pull up all the fun baby info.
How many weeks/days along...how big the baby is...and a countdown.
I love reading outloud to Travis the huge milestones this little one is accomplishing each week.
It amazes me how God is constantly forming the tiny details of our sweet babe.
This week... his/her tiny vocal chords are developing.
Just incredible.
If I had a million babies I don't think the beauty of their forming little bodies would ever get old.
It is a complete miracle!!!
Speaking of babies.
I have a friend who I have been praying for for a long time.
Her and her husband have struggled to get pregnant.
This girl is one of the sweetest women you'll meet and desperately desired to be a mom.
She shared the fun news with me a few weeks ago that they were finally pregnant!
And to make it even sweeter...they just shared the news today that they're expecting TRIPLETS!
Isn't our God good? :)

Alright.
I had made a deal with myself that I would be in bed by 10.
It's now 10:25.
Nighty night and I'll be back tomorrow with some fun news about next weeks posts!

  2. i love you and your example of a proverbs 31 wife and mama. I also love that you are my fellow friend who drives through their donut shop for coffee and donuts. The drive-thru donut shoppe has become my best friend and enemy... just posted about it yesterday actually! Love you friend!

  6. I got goosebumps reading this post! So excited for you and your sweet little (growing!) family and your friend!! Also, I have to laugh about football season. That's how tax season is in our house, but reversed! I disappear for 3 months and Daniel holds down the fort; I couldn't do it without a supportive spouse! Travis is blessed to have you :)

And you have no idea how much I wish we had a drive-thru donut shop....
