Happy 4th!

Happy Birthday to America!
We are so proud to be Americans!

Our family is so thankful for the service men and women who fight daily for our freedom.

The other night we were watching fireworks.
Colt kept saying he didn't like the noise they made.
Travis' childhood best friend was there watching them with us.
He is an Officer in the Air Force.
He told Colt "that noise is the sound of freedom."
I honestly have never thought of it that way.

Ever since being a mom the Fourth and any patriotic holiday makes me
especially proud and teary-eyed at what a great country we live in.
And especially proud of the service men and women who fight for us.
And proud of their families who let them go to fight for us.

Our family thanks the service men, women and their families this Fourth of July.
Thankyou for the sacrifice you have made and are making to keep our nation safe.

God Bless America!!!

  6. Thank YOU for acknowledging that this holiday is about more than just BBQs and Parades. :)

I am the Mama of 2 young men who made the choice to serve our country. My eldest son served for 4 1/2 years, spending 2 1/2 years on the front lines in Iraq. My 2nd son is currently in flight training as an officer in the Navy.

Loved the "sound of freedom". Wow! I will certainly share that with my kids as we go watch fireworks tonight.

And ... BEAUTIFUL picture of a beautiful family.

    Hope your day was BLESSED!!!
