Monday Morning

Our weekend was full and good!
Travis went on an overnight fishing trip with his dad
Friday evening so the kids and I stayed the night with his mom.
She was awesome and watched the kids for me Friday night
so I could go out for dinner with my sister.

Saturday we came back after lunch and everyone took huge afternoon naps.
Actually the kids and Travis took naps while I went to lay on the lake on my float.
AND... I had a terrifying experience where I thought I was being attacked by a small snake.
Which turned out to be my swimsuit tie.
Lots of thrashing and screaming....only to realize what it was.
I'm thankful nobody was watching.
At least I don't think anyone was.

Sunday was our normal church routine.
Every Sunday sweet Cade cries and cries during nursery.
Breaks my heart.
The little fella hates to be away from me.
Until this Sunday!
They moved him up to the next class and there were no tears!
That right there is such a great feeling as a mom:)
I hate leaving him in there when he's sad.
In addition to no tears he also wore shoes to church for perhaps the first time?
His feet are so wide that he won't wear shoes because they're uncomfortable.
I found a pair of flip flops that he kept on!
It was a big day for my little guy!

I teach piano lessons and yesterday afternoon I had my student's spring piano recital.
It was a sweet little recital!
My students did a great job!
They presented me with the most gorgeous bouquet of fresh picked flowers afterwards.
I can not stop smelling them!!!

The end of this week we're going camping with my family for a week!
Which means time to get serious and organized over here.
Camping meal plans need to be made...
Laundry done...
Bags packed...
Bedding packed...

Are any of you campers?
My parent's have an extra camper which they generously let us use.
An air-conditioned one I might add...hallelujah.
We have camped before in a tent when Emma was a baby.
I vowed I will never do that again with a child.
I wasn't a happy camper during that week ;)

This will be our third year camping with them.
It's such a sweet time!
My grandparents and aunt, uncle and cousins from Colorado meet up with us.
My dad brings his boat for entertainment on the lake all week.

I'm off to start laundry.
I'll be back tomorrow...
I have a feeling most posts this week will have to do with camping prep work :)
Happy Monday!

  2. Liam's feet are really fat, but Pediped shoes fit him great. They are pricey, but we have no choice... his feet won't fit in any other brand.

  5. I just came across your blog recently and really enjoy reading your posts....I have a Kade too! :) HE made a year this past Jan. But anyway, he has really wide feet too and hates wearing shoes. I found that Stride Rite's shoes fit him really well (they comes in wide) and they are all that he will wear!...Also where did you get Emmas earrings in these pics? THey are too cute!
