Today has been gray and sprinkling rain off and on.
I love these days every once in awhile...
it makes me not feel so guilty for staying inside.
I have this overwhelming feeling of mother guilt
when it's a beautiful day and we're cooped up inside.
(even if it's to get our every day chores done)
Especially when I know the Texas heat will be here before we know it
and we will without a doubt be staying inside.
So we have been inside all day.
With the windows wide open letting the cool rainy air in.
The boys have been playing on the floor together.
Pots and pans have been taken out for a musical band.
Emma's been crafting at the table making Mother's Day cards.
And I've been sewing and crafting in between the usual mother duties.
It all started yesterday when I painted my kitchen table top on a whim during naptime.
I had painted it white last summer.
Then this winter it got attacked by Colt and a permanent marker.
I tried everything to scrub it off and nothing made a dent in his art work.
So it's had a table clothe on it for the past three months.
I had a can of turquoise paint that I had used for my computer desk back in the fall.
A few coats on my table top and it looks good as new!
And the turquoise has me feeling all crafty.
So that's just what we've been doing.
I made a few pillows and hairbows for our home and Emma.
And then I just couldn't stop.
I kept sewing and cutting and crafting...
And starting next week my shop will have a few new goodies in it!
What are your plans for the weekend?
I told Travis my one Mother's Day request is that we get Saturday morning donuts and coffee
followed by a drive around the lake.
That's about the only thing that we have planned.
I can hardly wait!
Weekends spent at home as a family are my favorites!
Have a great one and Happy Mother's Day!
