Life Lately

The weather is making us believe it's already summer time here in Texas.
Now is our time to enjoy being outside.
Because you can bet your bottom dollar that once August and September hits
we will be cooped up inside our air-conditioned homes.
It's kind of like another round of winter.
You don't leave your house except to get groceries or to venture out to another air-conditioned place.
I just keep praying it will be a summer of miraculously low heat.
Days upon days of 100+ degree temps are the only downfall to this state. :)

I love this sweet little gal.
She's all about dresses, dolls and being a princess.
But she loves fishing and worms as much as her brother does.
Well-rounded I like to think:)

I can't remember if I've told you guys about the honeysuckle I've found.
If I have just pretend I haven't ;)
On my run the other night I kept smelling the most beautiful smell!
Turns out there is a ton of honeysuckle around where we live.
I've cut quite a bit of it to put around our home.
It smells divine!

Speaking of things that smell divine.
I picked up this lotion at Walmart last week.
You MUST get yourself a bottle!
It smells just like summer all bottled up.

We could eat Mexican food every meal and never tire of it.
Last week we made our first round of fajitas to kick off the summer weather.
I've started making our own salsa.
My friend has the most delicious recipe and she passed it on to me.
I'll make sure to give it to you next week!
Do you make your own salsa?

And what's a post without a picture of the brothers.
The other morning they were rolling around on the floor playing together.
I'm pretty sure it was the first time they've really ever played together.
It made me excited for the years to come and the relationship that they will have.

We played outside all morning which means good afternoon naps for all three.
I'm getting ready to work on my menu plan for the next two weeks.
What are some of your favorite summer time recipes?
Especially grilling recipes!
Hope your Thursday was good :)

  8. Hey Ash, thanks for your sweet comment! Wish we could hang out and let our kids run free together! Emma reminds me so much of Addie! Addie has been a dress girl since about age 2 and still wears them most days. She will wear leggings and cotton shirts but if I dare to put jeans or anything with a waistband and button on her she just can't take it! ;) I made fajitas this week too. We love grilling weather so I hope I can get some recipes from you to try! Miss you friend.
