Lots on my mind this evening.
Lots on my mind all day in fact.
Easter weekend is my favorite holiday weekend hands down.
Not because of what the world has made it.
But because without it we would be nothing.
Without Christ dying on the cross our sins would not be washed away.
Without Him rising on the third day we would be nothing.
My favorite hymn that I've been listening to over and over today is
Low in the Grave
Low in the grave He lay-
Jesus my Savior
Waiting the coming day-
Jesus my Lord
Up from the grave He arose,
With a mighty triumph o'er His foes
He arose a Victor from the dark domain,
And He lives forever with His saints to reign.
He arose! He arose!
He arose! He arose!
Hallelujah! Christ arose!
Vainly they watch His bed-
Jesus, my Savior
Vainly they seal the dead-
Jesus, my Lord
Jesus, my Lord
Death cannot keep His prey-
Jesus, my Savior
He tore the bars away
Jesus my Lord!

Here's the link to the version I was listening to.
SO good.
And I shared this song the other day too...
but it is so beautiful.
If you haven't listened to the song
New Again by Brad Paisley and Sarah Evans you NEED to.

I love using my blog as a creative outlet.
A place to put pretty pictures, fun recipes and craft ideas.
But what I love most about it is it's a place where I can share
with you the Truth.
Christ died for you.
He loves you.
He was dead and buried.
On the third day He rose again.
He is alive.
It may not make sense to you.
But I can promise you this.
He is real.
He has changed my life.
And my prayer this Good Friday is that
you would know that Jesus loves you my friend.
He wants a relationship with you.
When He died on the cross many years ago He did it for you.
He did it for me.
All you have to do is accept Him into your life.
Your life may be a mess right now.
You may be going through some hard times.
He is here and waiting for you to receive Him.
I would love to answer any questions you might have.
To talk more with you about it.

It's that simple. It's that true! Have a blessed Easter.
ReplyDeleteI, too, love that hymn. I woke in the middle of the night with "The Old Rugged Cross" on my heart. Wishing you and your family a beautiful Easter weekend.
ReplyDeleteWell done, Ashley. Thanks for the reminder about what's important. We are creative because God is the Master Artist and we're made in His image. But yes, the cross, without it we would be nothing. At all.
ReplyDeleteHappy Easter to you and yours...
He is Risen, He is Risen Indeed! Alleluia what a Savior!!! Have a blessed Easter.
ReplyDeleteThis is such a great post. Thank you so much for sharing your heart with such honesty and humility!

This is a favorite in our house!!! In fact....Ben and two other ladies will be singing it at church tomorrow. We saw the group NO OTHER NAME sing it in Nashville years ago and still listen to the CD frequently. Titan sings it every day and I love it. :)
