Do you want to know something utterly ridiculous and silly?
Sometimes I begin to feel like I live in a prison of trees living out in the country.
True story :)
True story :)
And... I feel a tad embarrassed to even admit it.
I love the city.
Love it.
Love it.
But what I equally love is living in the country.
They both have their perks in my opinion.
I love how alive and busy the city feels.
I love the convenience of the shopping.
I love that there is never a shortage of activities to do and to see.
I love the convenience of the shopping.
I love that there is never a shortage of activities to do and to see.
I love the hustle and bustle.
But I love the country for obviously opposite reasons.
I love the quietness and freedom it offers.
I love the quietness and freedom it offers.
I love being able to let my kids run and explore the creation around them.
I love the beauty of it.
I love the peacefullness of it.
But I've found that about every five weeks I get an itch to visit the city.
The quietness begins to feel too quiet.
Very ridiculous but true.
I'm beginning to feel antsy.
Which means it's time for a visit to the city.
:)
Do you love the city more than the country?
Or vice versa?
Or both like I do?
Or vice versa?
Or both like I do?

Hope your week was great!
Enjoy the weekend :)
Enjoy the weekend :)
I love them both also. I live in a busy suburb outside of a busy city and it's noisy...even at night! Sometimes I would love to actually see the stars and hear crickets.

I like both as well :) I love living in the country and being home where the kids can run free and we can have animals and see all the stars and hear coyotes and crickets, but I do enjoy sushi and movie theaters and parks and shopping, so living in the country and visiting the city is more appealing for me :)
ReplyDeleteI'm torn between the two, plus then you add the coast into the equation... tricky!Rx

Both. Right now, I live in the city (although not a large one by any means) and have access to Target, Starbucks, and everything at my fingertips and I love that. But...I am originally from the country and when I go home to visit I realize that I miss it sooooo much! We hope to eventually move back...I think the country is a great place to raise kids. I will definitely have to make trips to the city though...probably more frequently than every five weeks!

I feel exactly the same!!
ReplyDeleteI grew up in a big bustling city and now we just built a house and are surrounded by trees out in the country. I love waking up in nature and on sunny days looking out at the beauty of it all!
But I miss going to the grocery store at the drop of the hat or having lots of activities like you said!
The grass is always greener on the other side right??

{I always write the longest comments on your blog! Sorry!!}
I'm always torn between the two as well! Luckily we live right outside a major metro area, but we are planning on moving an hour north (closer to my hubby's new work), so then we will be in a quiet little small town. We are still debating on whether or not we want to buy land when we move our stay in the small town. But, the plus is that even when we move there I can get a good dose of going to the city every now and then. :)
ReplyDeleteI was a city girl born in the country! I always lived in a small town so when I was in college and moved somewhere that the grocery store was open past 8'oclock I was sold! I do love small town life and knowing that your kids are safe and that you know everyone, but I love all the options that city offers. Def advantages to both! :)
ReplyDeleteOh and one more thing. My poor kids are country kids born in the city. They love being outside and getting dirty it's a lot easier to do that in the country.
ReplyDeleteLove this photo!
ReplyDeleteAnd I am a city girl who adores getting away to the country. Living in Denver, it's easy to be in the mountains within minutes...but I have always preferred living in the middle of downtown. I think it's the energy that I love. But that can certainly become a little suffocating at times...
Happy weekend!
XO - Marion
I love, love, love the country life! I don't miss the big City one bit. I'm actually in Dallas this weekend at Jennifer's. We all went to an 80th B/D party for Dan's mom. Great to see family but I'm itching bad to get back to the country!
ReplyDeleteP.S. that last comment was from Aunt Marsha
ReplyDeleteI'm anonymous because I'm on Jenn's computer and didn't know how to get to my google account.
Ahh I grew up in the country and swore I'd never live there but now that I am married and have a place of my own- the country is CALLING. I never want to live in a development again, EVER! Love the country and the peacefulness about it. God beauty. I'll drive the extra 15 minutes to the nearest grocery store if I have to. (This might be silly but the only thing I worry about being in the country is hitting a deer (IOWA), or other drivers texting or driving drunk).
ReplyDeletei think i am going to get your haircut! i just love it.
ReplyDeleteyour photos are fantastic! And…I live in a small little town that's about 30 min outside of Denver…it's perfect! The city is close…but not too close! But we don't have trees…I'd love trees!
ReplyDeletethis is me, completely. i love both dearly.
