Laying low

I'm still here :)
Honestly I've been laying low since Tuesday.
The past few days have been ones where I felt like I needed to be on my A game with mothering.
I feel like parenting the little people comes in waves of easy and then hard.
We had a crazy hard wave this week :)
Lots of discipline and lots of learning what is right and wrong over here.

We spent the better part of our week outside in the sunshine.
*in between time outs that is ;) *
The sight of these three healthy babies all together makes the hard days and moments disappear.
I'm so thankful they're mine :)

You guys had some AWESOME ideas for grocery shopping!
If you haven't read through the comments from this post I highly suggest you do so!

Here are some of my favorite ideas...

Rachael's tip was "If you get below your budget, you could put it in a special pot for family 'treat night', perhaps you could use it to go to the movies/ bowling etc, thus giving every one a reason to stick to it."

I love this!  We use cash only for groceries so this makes it even more of an incentive to save for a rainy day!

Here's another...

Rhonda says she goes to Costco once a month and spends around $100.00 on paper goods, ground beef and shredded cheese.  She then splits it up into baggies and freezes.

SUCH a great idea!!!!

And Ashley goes above and beyond by categorizing her grocery list by the aisle numbers in the store.
I can not imagine what kind of a time saver that must be!!!!
Might have to try this one next time :)

You girls have all encouraged me with your comments.
I was at my women's prayer group last night and we got on the topic of saving money and being thrifty.
We chatted and compared tips for quite awhile.
I am always so encouraged when I leave conversations like that.
That's exactly what I'm hoping will continue to take place in the comments section of this blog.
I want us to encourage one another along in the process of being frugal and living within our means.
It can be fun :)

Out of curiosity.... would anyone ever be interested in a link-up that has to do with thrifty meals?
Leave a comment if you think it would be something that you might enjoy!
I know I am always on the hunt for inexpensive yet delicious meals!

Alrighty....time for movie night on the couch!
Have a great Friday evening my friends :)

  1. Once every few months I make spaghetti, soups, meatloaf, and taco meat and split it up into separate bags to freeze. It's great to have when you don't feel like cooking.

  5. Easy and hard does come in waves, for sure. My husband has had to KEEP reminding me "this too shall pass." Now I can finally tell myself that during the rough days, too. I'd love a thrifty meal link-up! We do all cash for our groceries, too, and I somehow ran out in February. Obviously need some cheaper go-to meal options...
