I'm back from the weekend!
We left yesterday after church for the city.
I had some errands that needed to be done and
I had some errands that needed to be done and
we also had a gift card to Olive Garden that was burning a hole in our pockets:)
Trav's mom watched the kids for us while we went out.
My sister joined us which was a treat.
It was nice being able to visit and have adult conversation :)

Not to mention the food!

I just loved the print to hang in my kitchen :)

The weather has been crazy warm lately.
It was in the low 70s this afternoon.
As soon as we got home we loaded the babes up in the strollers for a walk.

Do any of you use a bread machine?
starting in February I will be offering sponsor ads along the side of the blog to purchase.
I'll post more information later in the week about all of this.
Did you or your spouse get off from work?
Yay Martin Luther King day :)
Have a great evening!
I have a bread machine and love it I have one you make desserts in too, I just used it to make pizza dough today. I bought one used off facebook in a moms buy/sell group from my neighborhood. You should try to get one used since it's one of those items some people never use Tell me how it works out love your blog
ReplyDeleteMmmmm, olive garden! Yum. Don't have a bread machine but my sis in law does, nad her bread is really yummy! Love the card!
ReplyDeleteI love target dollar spot! And I have a bread machine - my husband got it for me at a thrift store our first year we were married - so it is pretty old I'm sure but works fine. the brand is redstar. I don't use it too often, although I should! The bread is delicious and easy, and it makes your house smell awesome!
ReplyDeleteHey Ash.. We love gift cards!!! And I have a bread maker which i really like... I haven't experimented enough with it... I think if anything it makes great dough to then make bread... I don't really like the the way the machine bakes the bread and it really only taste GREAT the first day. But Pizza Dough is Great and cost pennies!!! I wish we lived close i would let you borrow mine for a couple weeks to see if you really like it :)
ReplyDeleteSo m not sure if I've told you before...but I love reading your blog. That's all :)
ReplyDeleteMmm..Olive Garden! My husband and I ate there tonight actually. And I love the dollar spot at Target. It's always the first place I stop when I go in.
ReplyDeleteI have a bread machine I paid $3 for at a yard sale and it has worked just as good as a new one. I don't think it saves money necessarily but it taste better and doesn't have any preservatives. You get a smaller loaf and it's tricky to cut even and thin slices of bread. I can only get about 3 sandwiches out of a machine loaf because the top heal is large and the bottom has a whole in it where the machine kneads the bread.
ReplyDeleteI love my bread machine for mixing dough of all kinds - breads, rolls, pizza, etc. But I rarely actually bake the bread in there, it just doesn't turn out as well. I agree with the others: it's a good item to buy used!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE my bread machine!! Like seriously obsessed! And yes, it totally saves money (check out the book Make Bread Buy Butter!! It is so awesome and tells you things you should make from scratch and things you should buy from the store, based on how much it costs to do both!!). I have a few recipes up on my blog for my bread machine. LOOOOOVE it!! :) XOXO!!
ReplyDeleteLove the pictures, sounds like a great weekend!

ReplyDeleteI got this breadmakerfor Christmas a few years ago and love it!

I do agree that maybe it was a little more pricey to begin with just because you have to get the bread flour, yeast, dry milk, etc. But then once you have everything it last for a LONG time.
We use ours for the french bread, white, and pizza a lot. You just can't beat the homemade flavor.
We also used to make raisin bread but haven't in a while. I should probably use it more than I do, but it takes a little planning.
So all of this writing to say- yes it's worth it and I love ours!
love targets dollar section.
ReplyDeletewho doesnt love the target dollar section haha and i love the pics girl :) xo
ReplyDeletei know someone who hated her bread machine and preferred to use an artisan bread recipe (which i haven't tried). i don't like the shape of he bread machine bread so i would always make dough in it then bake it in a pan in the oven. it gets annoying after a time if you don't have a super convenient spot for the machine. but there is nothing better than that fresh bread.
ReplyDeleteLove my bread maker! I set the timer on mine and have fresh bread and homemade apple butter (the bread machine doesn't make this) for breakfast the next day...the kids go crazy for it! I have the Bread Box Plus...I've had it for about 12 years. I also love to make a loaf of bread during the day (takes 3 minutes to throw the ingredients in and I have the recipe memorized) and then we have yummy grilled cheese sandwiches and tomato soup for dinner. I think you'd have fun with it!~
ReplyDeleteI'll bet you can get a good used bread machine at a very good deal. Lot of people get them and then don't take the time to use them so they end up in resale shops, craigslist, garage sales etc. Thanks for you nice comments on my blog. I made your pumpkin bread at Christmas so it's only fair you get a few recipes from me!!
ReplyDeleteI do not like my bread machine. I have an Oster and it's very big which makes storage difficult. It also makes awful bread - dense, tough, flavorless, bad crust. It doesn't matter what recipe I use or what kind of flour. It also never bakes the top of the crust properly, though just using the dough cycle then baking it in the oven makes it marginally better. Hands down store-bought bakery bread is much more enjoyable and less expensive when you consider all the ingredients you waste on botched bread machine loaves. Homemade bread goes stale very quickly too, I find. To me a bread machine should be very simple - if you follow the recipe you should get edible bread with minimal effort. That's not the case though, you can tell from all the tips out there on how to baby your bread machine process with tweaks and adjustments. My grocery store bakery makes incredible fresh baked bread that I can buy for a couple bucks. That's a much better deal for me. :)
