Wednesday Musings...

Good Wednesday evening!
This post will be scattered and all over.
Kind of how my posts have been the past few months :)
My brain is officially shot.
And it seems to only work remembering random thoughts and facts.
So that's what you'll be getting this evening...

Last week (at least I think it was last week... my brain can't exactly remember :) ) the weather was beautiful and Trav set up the kiddie pool for the kids to go swimming.
Turns out it wasn't quite as warm as we had thought because after awhile I made them get out because they were shaking and their lips were blue :)

Emma wanted me to take a picture of her blue lips.  She was disappointed to see on my camera that they weren't as blue as she had imagined them to be.

I love how these two are such good buddies...

Monday was laundry day.
I had a precious little helper who thoroughly enjoyed laying in nests of warm, fresh from the dryer, blankets and clothes.

Last week we enjoyed a spring storm on the front porch.
Lots and LOTS of rain.

Life is still in limbo over here.  We'll be packing up and moving within a month.
I'm so excited to move and get settled in our new town and home.
Definitely ready to get out my sewing machine and craft supplies.
It's been hard not putzing around the house working on fun projects!

Would you believe that I haven't had to menu plan or cook for a whole month since Cade has been born?
Between our church Sunday school class and my MOPS group we have had a whole month of meals.
Unbelievable.
I have been blown away by the generosity of friends and even people I don't really even know!
Makes me excited to pass the love on to other new moms.
It is such a blessing not to have to worry about dinners.
If any of you who brought meals reads this... THANKYOU!!!!!

It's four minutes til 10.
My goal was to be IN BED by 10.
I'm pooped.
Poor Cade was up quite a bit of last night.
Turns out he doesn't like spicy Mexican food in his milk.
Go figure :)
Lesson learned.

Have a good night friends!!!

Monday

Good Monday!  It's gray and rainy here.  My favorite kind of weather for a Monday!  Makes for a good day of staying inside and resting after the weekend!
How was your Easter?!  We stayed in town this year to celebrate.  Our church service didn't start until 10:50 which was the perfect time in my opinion!  It gave us plenty of time to enjoy a cinnamon roll breakfast, get everyone dressed and also time to snap a few pictures of the kids before we left.
After church we headed over to my husband's parents' home for Easter lunch and an egg hunt!

All three kids are napping now.

Love this time of day!

Off to fold some clean laundry.
Hope you had a great Monday!

Spring Tulips

The weekend is here!
I came across these images earlier this morning and thought they were so incredibly beautiful!
They're pictures of the tulip fields in Holland.
Enjoy the pictures and have a great weekend friends!

Matthew 6:28-30
"And why do you worry about clothes?  See how the lilies of the field grow. They do not labor or spin.  Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these.  If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will He not much more clothe you, Oh you of little faith."

The Weekend

To say that this weekend was an absolute treat would be the understatement of the year!!!
It was so great seeing my family and having them meet Cade!
We packed alot into the few days that they were here.
The night they arrived we ate barbeque at our house (Trav smoked a brisket...oh..my...YUM!) and then headed to their hotel for a little evening swimming.

Quite a bit of the weekend was spent visiting on our front porch, playing washers in the front yard, riding my younger brother and sister's ripstick (have you ever tried one? CRAZY hard!) and cuddling on the babies.

Monday morning my mom, sisters, Emma, Cade and I headed to the American Girl Store!
Colt, my brother and dad headed off on their own boys' outing.
And poor Trav had to go to work!

The American Girl Store was everything we had hoped it would be!
We started off the morning with Emma picking out her own Bitty Baby.  Grandma's treat!
THANKYOU GRANDMA and GRANDPA!!! :)
She ended up choosing a blonde hair-blue eyed baby.  After thinking long and hard about a name she ended up naming the baby, "Emma Maddie". I tried to talk her into naming it something besides Emma, but there was no changing her mind!  So Baby Emma Maddie it is!

The aunties, Grandma, Emma and Emma Maddie ;)

My mom had made lunch reservations in the American Girl Bistro for lunch.
It was so beautiful! Everything was very pink and very girly!

Sweet Cade was a good sport and slept the entire time!

My lunch... linguine with tomatoes and goat cheese.  It was the most delicious pasta I've ever eaten!

Dancing after lunch :)

It was such a memorable and fun trip!  Thanks for taking us Grandma :)

They headed back to Missouri on Tuesday morning.
But not before they snuck in a little more cuddle time with Cade!

I'm off of here to tidy up the house before the kiddos wake up from their naps!
Happy Thursday!

Lunch time, Sister love and a break

posted on: Thursday, April 7, 2011

Hi friends! The weekend is almost here!  I can hardly wait for Saturday to come.
The reason is because..... my family is coming from Missouri to meet Cade and visit!!!
We have lots of exciting things planned.  One of them being a trip to the American Girl Store for Emma to pick out her very own Bitty Baby.  Ever since we found out Emmy was a girl my mom and sister Kaitlin have been planning this trip!  We've been waiting for her to be old enough to really enjoy it.  And the time has finally come!

One of my favorite things about staying home with my kids is getting to eat lunch with them every day.
I love that Colt and Em are getting old enough to make up little games while we enjoy our lunch.
One of our favorite games that we've made up is called the, "I like" game.  We all take turns saying things that we like.  It's such a crackup to hear the things that they say!
Another game that we like to play is the "Funny Face Game."  This is where I tell the kids to make some sort of a face or to do some sort of an action and then they do it.
Below are a few pictures from a Funny Face Game this week.

"Make the biggest smile you can!"

"Look like a reindeer!"

*Colt loves reindeer.  He calls them "rain da deeahs" If he finds a pair of anything he'll stick it on his head like antlers.  Two sticks, two straws, two toys, etc.*

"Make a sad face"

"Go to sleep"

"Make a silly face"

I cherish these sweet times that we'll all eat our lunches together!

Just in the past week I've noticed Emma loving more and more on Cade.
She is SUCH a good big sister!  Any time she walks past him she baby talks to him and kisses him all over his face :)  The other day I found her sitting on the couch reading quietly to him.
 It made my heart melt!

Yesterday when I went to get Cade up from his nap this is how I found him... :)
I wonder who could have done that?!

In other news I'm taking a week off from the internet/computer.
I feel like a little break from blog checking and facebook would be good.
So... if anyone sends me any sort of message through the internet just know that you won't be hearing back from me until next week!
Enjoy your weekend! :)

Sunday Randomness

posted on: Sunday, April 3, 2011

Hello! I can tell you now that there will be no structure to this post whatsoever.  Just a few random thoughts while the babes are napping!

*I'm sure it has something to do with lack of sleep and baby number three... but my brain is SHOT!  I can't seem to remember anything.  My brain is feeling very elderly the past week.
 ________________________________________________________

*It has been almost a whole month since I've had a Dr. Pepper.  I gave it up two weeks before Cade was born.  I haven't said anything because I typically cave in and have one after a week or so.  I'd say I'm in the clear this time and it feels great!
___________________________________________________________

*Just a little lesson that everyone should learn.... never EVER EVER under any circumstances ask a woman when she is expecting or if she is pregnant.
Yesterday I walked into a store and the sales woman immediately walked up to me.  Here's how the conversation went down.

Sales Woman: I love that shirt! Such a pretty coral color!
Me: Thankyou!  I love it too!
Sales Woman: It's maternity right? You are just the cutest pregnant girl ever!  You're pregnant right?!
(Side note: No, it was not a maternity shirt.)
Me: Oh uhhh... uhhhh... uhhhhhhhhhh... yep, maternity and yep pregnant.

And then I dashed out of the store :)
Now looking back I should have just told her that no, I just had a baby a week and a half ago.  And then perhaps she would have learned a valuable lesson in manners.  But of course I just chickened out and was embarassed and lied that I was pregnant. Ha!
So, just in case you have never heard of this rule...then consider this your warning that you should never ask a woman when she is expecting or if she is pregnant!

*Travis and I have been watching Swamp People on the History Channel (you can watch the show online).  Ever seen it?  We love it :)  It's a reality tv show following alligator hunters down in Louisiana. It's definitely not a show I would have ever thought I would enjoy.  But their way of life is really quite fascinating!

* This is one of those times where my brain has shut down.  I had a list in my head of random things I was going to write about.  And now that I've started typing I can't thing of a darn one. :)

Hope you're enjoying your weekend with the ones you love!
Have a great Monday tomorrow!
