Whirlwind Weekend

This weekend we drove in to the city to finish our Christmas shopping.
Friday evening we spent the night at Trav's parents and celebrated his birthday with them.
He'll be 29 tomorrow!
Saturday morning his mom watched the kids while we went on a breakfast date and then shopping.
The breakfast was delish and the conversation was even better :)
Thankyou Tricia for watching the kids!
It was such a treat being able to drink my coffee while it was hot and to visit uninteruppted with Travis!
I had an omelette with tomatoes, avacado, spinach and mozzarella in the middle.
SO good!

After we finished our shopping we joined back up with our group and headed to Bass Pro.
We were going to take Santa pictures...but the wait would have been almost 3 hours.
Not happening.
We don't even do Santa at our house so it wasn't that big of a deal.
Instead we opted for a picture in front of the reindeer ;)

We did a little fish looking....

A little shopping...
Actually more like waiting patiently while Trav browsed;)
He was in heaven :)

Then Trav's parents treated us to a yummy lunch of pizza and salad.
The salad was so delicious...covered in green and black olives.
I think I'm going to have to start making my salads like this!

After lunch it was off to the beauty parlor for the kids to get haircuts from their aunt Bekka.

She spoiled Emma and gave her a pink streak.
Sassy :)

We went back to Trav's parents and relaxed for a little bit.
Then it was baths for the kids and pjs.
We loaded back up...grabbed a little McDonalds for dinner...and drove around
looking at Christmas lights before heading home.

I'm terrible about waiting to open presents until Christmas morning.
I talked Travis into letting the kids open one of their presents after church on Sunday :)
Colt opened his Captain America mask and figurine.
Emma a trunk of dressup clothes.
My reasoning is it will give them something to play with this week while I organize and pack!

And now the Christmas week has begun!
We spent the morning getting a few groceries to get us through the week.
We will be at our house Christmas morning.
I'm wanting to make a special but quick breakfast for us to eat after presents and before church.
Preferably something I could put together the night before and just pop in the oven when I wake up.
Maybe a breakfast casserole or overnight french toast?
If you have a good recipe please share it!!!

Hope you had a great weekend

I had to laugh that you let the kids open gifts early, you softie:)
