Cheese Ball Recipes x3

I LOVE cheese balls!
My mom would always make cheese balls right around Christmas time.
And only then.
They were such a treat!
The other night we had a little Christmas pizza party and I made our first cheeseball of the season.
So delicious :)
I have three different recipes I am sharing today.
The first two are the recipes that my mom made growing up.
The third is a recipe I found on this blog.
I made it this weekend and it is SUPER good!
If you have a cheeseball recipe I would love to have it!
Please share in the comments!

Original Cheeseball Recipe
8 oz. cream cheese (room temp)
8 oz. cheddar cheese, grated
2 Tbsp. onion, finely chopped
1/2 tsp. parsley, chopped (I use dried)
1 tsp. chili powder
1/2 tsp. garlic salt.

Mix all the ingredients and roll into a ball.
Roll the cheeseball in chopped nuts of your choice and sprinkle with paprika.
Refrigerate until you serve.
Serve with crackers or veggies.

1/3 cup chopped green olives
1/4 cup chopped black olives

  7. I love cheese balls but have never attempted making them. These don't seem too hard though and I am especially intrigued by the olive one.

  9. How do you roll it? On a cutting board or just on your oounter?

    Does it make a mess?

I love to eat cheese from a cheese ball, I've just never really given it a thought as to how they are made. Very curious now.

  10. I made my first cheese ball of the season today! Here's what's in it:

    2 x 8 oz cream cheese
2 cups sharp (old) cheddar, grated
    2 tsp worcestershire sauce
    1 tsp lime juice
    1/8 tsp lawry seasoning salt
    4 garlic cloves, pressed
    1 tbsp dried onion flakes
    1/8 tsp cayenne pepper

Beat it all together in your mixer and form into a ball. Wrap tightly with plastic wrap. Once firm, roll in toasted sesame seeds. Sooo good!

  11. Just had to share my cheese ball recipe... it's a HUGE hit and incredibly simple! For my family, simpler is better. :) At halloween, I add orange food coloring and cover it in black poppy seeds rather than nuts. So fun!

2 (8-oz.) pkgs. cream cheese, softened
8 oz. sharp cheddar cheese, or more to taste
1 pack chives, chopped (about 1/2 c.), or more to taste
    Chopped pecans
    Ritz crackers

Whip cream cheese until softened; mix in cheese and chives. Shape cheese mixture into a ball, then place on serving platter. Press nuts onto ball; serve with crackers.

  13. I use the bacon ranch recipe, but I also make a swiss and herbs one (just sub in grated swiss with garlic and herbs to taste). The recent fave of my house has been a new one though using smoked gouda, bacon, garlic, and finely minced jalapeno.
