I have a secret.
I didn't do ANY dishes today.
I didn't pick up a single toy today.
I didn't do a single load of laundry.
I didn't pick up a single toy today.
I didn't do a single load of laundry.
I didn't do anything work related.
Yes, we ate.
And yes the toys were played with.
And yes..there are about a million piles of laundry needing to be washed.
But instead I decided to take a "vacation day" from my housework.
I know I've written similar posts.
But it's kind of where I'm at in life.
I've found that yes... I can have a spotless home.
But only if I'm constantly picking up and tidying.
All day.
Today I simply enjoyed my babies.
We ate breakfast, got dressed and headed straight outside.
We played outside ALL morning.
From 9:30 to noon.
Then we came inside and I bathed them.
We drove into town and celebrated our "vacation day" with cheeseburgers and fries.
Home for naps.
Then off to Wednesday night church.

Now it's almost 11 pm.
Everyone is tucked into their bed.
The dishes are sitting on the counter.
I'm surrounded by toys.

I'm surrounded by toys.
And the Mount Everest of laundry is even bigger tonight than it was this morning.
But I wouldn't have had my day any other way:)
I loved on and enjoyed the company of my babies all day!
I wish I could freeze time.
They're getting big and fast.
I love the simpleness that life is now.
Their biggest worries are "what's for breakfast" and "when can we craft?".

I love this:)
I feel like I can't take enough pictures...
I want to remember their crazy morning hair...
Because obviously we didn't comb it on "vacation day" ;)

Their sweet baby profiles...
The tops of their fluffy heads...
The sweet love they have for one another...
And the dirty faces:)

ReplyDeleteYou can get clear glass plates from the dollar store and do the handprint turkeys on them. Then you can write Happy Thanksgiving around the edge and the year at the bottom. I've done this my kiddos @ school and they turn out super cute. Oh, spray them with an acrylic sealer too.
