I'm "blank" because...

I saw this idea on Casey and Ashley's blogs...
thought it would be a fun little change :)


I'm weird because...
I wash our sheets twice sometimes three times a week
Shoes on carpet gross me out
I won't share milk products with anyone (icecream, milkshakes, glasses of milk, etc)
I love Mondays
I never take showers...only baths
I make my kids bath every. single. night. No skipping
I make my kids wear Pink Johnson and Johnson baby lotion
 before they go to church (because it smells good!)
Would rather drink my calories than eat them.  (coffee, dr. pepper, milkshakes)
I miss my kids while they sleep
I would rather take all three kids with me anywhere I go rather than leave them with a sitter
I prefer watching a movie at home rather than going to the movie theater.


I’m a bad friend because…
I am the queen of not returning calls
Or responding to texts or emails. (trying to be better!!!)
I love to just be home rather than out and about on playdates


I'm a good friend because...
While I'm at home being a homebody I am praying for whoever has asked for it :)
I will bake you delicious treats if you come to visit :)


I'm sad because...
My family lives way too far away.

I'm happy because...
I have an AWESOME husband!
I have three healthy babes
Thanksgiving is this week!
The Lord has poured blessings upon our family this week.
We have such wonderful and generous friends.
We get our Christmas tree this Saturday!


I'm excited for...
Thanksgiving day with my family
The Macey's Day Parade on tv!
Baking pies with Emma
The upcoming new year
A new season in a new town

Are any of you cooking the big dinner?!
We're headed to my in-laws!
I have yet to make any sort of Thanksgiving meal....
I'm on dessert duty this year.
Definitely a pumpkin pie and not sure what else?

  1. this is such a totally cute way to get to know you!!! i may have to steal the idea myself! ;) dang girl, that's a lot of laundry with those sheets!! and i wish i had time to take baths every day instead of showers!!

  3. Adore this!! I love pumpkin cheesecake for thanksgiving. Or homemade apple pie with vanilla bean ice cream! (just don't share your ice cream, right?!) :D

    And if neither of those are good ideas-- what about peach cobbler? I remember making it when I was your daughter's age with my gramma. We ate it under the table. Still do to this day, and that was 20 years ago. :D

  4. We are not traveling this year for the first time in 20 years. We have gone to Oregon every year to a Christian Family Camp, but need to stay home this year.

    It will be so different staying home, but I'm kind of looking forward to making the big Thanksgiving meal for the first time in 20 years. It will be sad, though, because only one of our six Big Kids will be spending the holiday. 3 of the Big Kids got married this year, and have made other plans with their spouses.

    Since we can't travel to Oregon, though, we have rented a cabin in the mountains, just an hour from home. We are looking forward to playing in the SNOW.

    Quiet time. Snow play. Yummy food. Lots of Games and Movies. Time with our 6 younger kids.

    Yes. While it will definitely be different, I am looking forward to it.

    PS: I LOVE to see/know young mamas that just like to stay home with their kiddos. You are a GREAT mommy. Don't ever feel bad about staying home with your kids. It is the very BEST place to be.

  5. I just saw this idea on Friday on someone's blog and thought it was a fun get-to-know- you type post. I may have to do my own.
    Im excited that we'll be decorating for Christmas this week, too. Its my favorite time of year so I can hardly wait! And Im hoping we'll break tradition this year and get a REAL tree!

    Not much for leaving my precious little ones behind either. Wife and mama are my favorite titles ever!!!

    What a cute blog post.
    That pic of the sun streaming in through the windows over your babies is so neat.
    I am like you, I would always prefer to be at home with my kiddos than out on a playdate. Happy to read I am not alone on that because it often seems like it.

  8. u are not weird, it is recommended that sheets be washed a least every third day of sleep. most people dont wash theirs enough. oh the creamer...love it.

  9. My favorite fall/Thanksgiving dessert is an apple crumb pie my friend introduced me to. It has (what seems like) a half inch of brown sugar crumbly topping instead of a second crust. And then, it just gets better by drizzling caramel before serving. You've inspired me to share the recipe on my blog! This week, for sure! I'm making it for Thanksgiving, and I purchased the pumpkin pie from ALDI. :) That tells you where my priorities are...
