Current Reading List

I'm not one known for finishing a project completely before I begin another.
The same goes with how I read!
I like to read a little of everything all at once.
Here are the books that I'm currently reading through.
1. The Bible- A must read for me... every day.

2. The Centurion's Wife- By Davis Bunn and Janette Oke:  I'm about 2/3 of the way through.  Janette Oke is my favorite author.  This book is definitely not one of my favorites.  Kind of boring and full of historical facts and tidbits.  Not what I'm really going for when I want to read a "fluffy" kind of book.

3.Bringing Up Girls by Dr. James Dobson: I'm about 3 chapters into this one.  So far I am LOVING it!  Has anyone else read this?

4. The Pioneer Woman Cooks by Ree Drummond: I'm just going to assume that everyone has heard of the Pioneer Woman.  This cookbook is amazing! Top notch recipes!

  2. We read Bringing Up Boys, and also by Dobson "Tempering Your Child's Tantrums". Both were awesome.

I need to go hit up the library, because I just finished another re-read of a John Grisham book.

  4. I have read that series by T. Davis Bunn and Janet Oke it is okay but I REALLY loved their series call a Song of Acadia. Made me interested in early english history and also the second series by Bunn and his wife called Heirs of Acadia.

If your looking for a great parenting read I HIGHLY recommend Shepherding a Child's Heart and Don't Make Me Count to Three.

Oh how I could rattle on about books!!

  5. Since I am working with kids and parents now and most of the time I am trying to teach parents how to parent, I am reading a lot. Right now I am in love with "Don't make me count to 3" must read for all moms. I've also started "Ministry of Motherhood" another good one. My sister suggested I read "Creative Consequences" so that's up next. Most of mine are on discipline. Now if I could just have a kid to apply them too... haha.
