Well... it's here...2011 that is.
Some how the new year has really snuck up on me. Normally I like to have my resolution list made. And of course each resolution has bullets below it detailing the resolution. And so on and so on. Not so much this year. I'm giving myself the whole month of January to figure out all of my goals for the year. So there January 1... it's not all about you! :)
This year I've decided to make a list of things I'd like to accomplish during the year. Not so much a resolution list... but more of a goals and accomplishments list. I have several things in mind already to add to my list. The first and foremost is to grow in my walk with Christ. Because how can I teach my little ones more about Him when I'm simply just "getting by"? And motherhood/wifehood (is that a word? :) ) is hard enough to do when I am relying on Him... can't imagine doing it without Him!
And another goal is to read through the Bible by the end of the year. I always poop out on this goal when I reach the Old Testament with all of the laws. But by golly... I'm just going to plow through it this year! :)
Has anyone ever read the book, "Crazy Love"? I've heard several great reviews on it and would love to hear what you think if you have read it! I think I'm going to need to find myself a copy.
A few other little goals are:
*STAY organized! I have worked my tail off the past week de-cluttering and organizing closets, drawers, rooms, you name it! I'm working on every THING has a specific place. And if there's no place for it... out it goes :) No more clutter!
*Weight Loss. :) With the other two kids I've always had some sort of a weight loss plan figured out before they were born. This kiddo is no different. I'm the kind of gal who needs to have some sort of a plan in place so that I can begin thinking about it and gearing up! I've been saving my pennies for a new pair of running shoes which I'm hoping to break in after sweet Cade makes his arrival! My goal is to have lost all of the weight I will have gained by the time Christmas comes. I'd say that's pretty realistic.... that's about 9 months from when he's born. 9 months to gain it... 9 months to lose it! :)
*Pictures with the kids. I've noticed around blogland that several women have taken time to take pictures of themselves with their kids every so often. I think this is a great idea! Because 99% of the time I'm the family photographer thus being behind the camera. So more often than not the pictures are of just the kids... or the kids and Travis. My goal this year is to take at least one picture a week with my kids.
And there you have it. The beginning of my list of goals for 2011! I feel pretty confident about them this year! In the past I've even been so bold as to put on my list, "Give up Dr. Pepper for a whole year." Let's just all laugh at this goal together shall we?! :)
Actually last year was one of the years that I made this one of my resolutions. And both of my sisters jumped on the "no pop" (or soda or whatever you call it) bandwagon with me. Funny thing is I only lasted a day without it and both of them went a WHOLE YEAR without it!!! Good job sisters :)

And just a few pictures from our week...
Our Target had a special last week BOGO on Mrs. Meyers cleaning products.
They are such a treat! I know it's silly but I smile every time I see their cute bottles on my kitchen sink :)
One of my favorite things about being a mom to toddlers is walking around the house and spotting different little "scenes" set up in random spots.
The horse and dino watering hole was set up in the living room corner. All by themselves :)
This little guy is turning quite independent lately. I found him this morning in the bathroom trying to wash his hands. Little smarty had even thought to bring a chair with him to stand on!
This particular morning during the kids playtime I found that Emma had tucked herself into my bed to read a book... love this :)
And here are a few out takes from my photos with the kids this week.
Colt was not interested in being in any pictures...not a surprise.
We were having a hard time getting everyone to smile together...
so I said "let's all just make silly faces...it'll be much easier!"
And yet I was the only one who ended up making a silly face. :)
I love my babies!

I've got several yummy recipes to share with you later this week.
So thankful for new cookbooks for Christmast! :)
I'll be back in a day or two with them! Happy Wednesday tomorrow!

You are so right about Mom in pictures with the kiddos. We are often behind the camera. I've even noticed that with me and the grandbabies. But, I'm moving into the pictures too this year!
ReplyDeleteLove you! mom
That watering hole is too cute! Kids and their imaginations. I'm always the photographer too...good idea on actually getting some pics with me in them. Who would've thought!? haha
ReplyDeleteI have Crazy Love and plan to start it as soon as I finish up Feminine Appeal. I have heard mixed things about it, but am excited to read it. I have an Everyday Bible that my sister gave me. It is amazing because it mixes in Old Testament, a Proverb, a Psalm and something from the New Testament each day. You get through the Word in a year and you are able to see how the Old and New are tied together so wonderfully. What kind of camera did you end up getting?
ReplyDeleteGreat goals for the year! I also have made reading the Bible through one of my goals for the year.
ReplyDeleteI did not list this is in my resolution post but I intend to keep up the "Show Me the Mommy" posts this year. It is such a great idea for us mommies to be in more photos with our babies.
A year without Dr. Pepper? Ha, that's just crazy! :)
Looks like you are off to a good start with yourself in 4 pictures! Way to go! :)
ReplyDeleteLove those horsies!
