Planting Chums

One of my favorite blogs that I currently read is Carissa over at Lowercase Letters.  She's participating in a giveaway/blog party that is hosted by a blog named Aspire. So anyways, I thought I'd link up and join in on the fun!

To enter all you have to do is write down four fun facts about yourself.  So here are my four facts.

1.  I hate sleeping in hotel beds.  I think they're disgusting.  I always bring my own pillow and a large blanket to wrap myself in before I get in.  I also wear long sleeve shirt, pants and socks as an extra barrier from the grossness of the bed :)  (side note- it doesn't matter if it were a fancy hotel...still think it's gross)

2.  One of my favorite things to eat is banana bread with butter and cheddar cheese.

3.  One of my family nicknames is "the Job Hog."  I've been known to hog as many jobs as I can.  Currently my job hoggedness (so not a word.. I know) has landed me being a piano teacher, swimming lesson teacher, dress sewer, babysitter and housecleaner.  And yes, I am always hunting for more.  Oink Oink

4.  My oldest brother and I are a year apart to the day.  Bless you Mom :)

  2. haha, I feel the exact same way about hotel beds. i feel like I'm sleeping in someone else's sex pool...and often wonder if they actually do change the sheets every time. I HAVE to take my pillow too, and if for some reason I cant, I put a t-shirt on their pillow to be another barrier between me and someone elses drool.

  3. I agree, hotel beds are SO gross! I even wear shoes through out the room. I can't imagine what is on those floors! UGH!

  4. You are totally right Ashley. I was the General Manager of a hotel and I could tell you some stories. One tip...when you check in, ask for a set of clean sheets and pillowcases. Then when you get to the room, change the bed and do not sleep under the bedspread or let it touch your clean sheets. Some hotels do not ever wash the bedspreads. My hotel washed them monthly, but that meant thirty days, thirty times the hotel room had been rented which could be thirty different people/couples. You get the point :o)

  8. i'm yet another who is thinks hotel beds are disgusting. I especially dislike it when the sheets are sticky or ball-y. It also scaryto think that you are sleeping on the same sheets that hundreds of other people have slept on. ewww

  11. so glad you linked up!!! hannah is so precious and i just love her blog. you are too sweet to mention me. : )

oh my goodness... your four facts take the cake!

#1 - i'm the same way about hotel beds. i always take extra socks because i like to have one pair to only wear in the hotel bathroon, one pair to only wear in the hotel bed, and one pair to wear with my shoes. it ends up being a whole lotta socks!

#2 - that sounds so strange, but i'm sure if you like it, then it must be good!

#3 - you are a job hog!!! ha ha!!! too funny!!! i think it just means you're resourceful and really good at a lot of things!

#4 - yes indeed... bless your mama's heart!

  12. I so agree with the hotel thing. Jeff thinks I'm so weird :) I freak out if Landree tries to touch anything at hotels. Ha!

I need your swim lesson info too. We'll be home for like 6 weeks this summer. We could use a lesson, and it would be fun!

  13. I just found your blog through "Planting Chums" and love it! I too love banana bread, warm out of the oven, with butter on it! Oh and hotel beds are the worst. I pretty much assume I will not sleep all night if I have to sleep in a hotel room. I am following your blog now and looking forward to getting to know you better. Blessings!
